Ces exercices vous permettent de mettre en pratique les tournures emphatiques vues dans le cours : phrases clivées, auxiliaires do/does/did et pseudo-clivées. Testez votre maîtrise de ces structures essentielles du niveau C1.

Exercice 1 — Complétez avec la bonne forme emphatique

Complétez chaque phrase en ajoutant l'auxiliaire emphatique correct (do, does ou did) à la bonne place.

  1. She ___ (do) understand the consequences of her actions, even if she rarely shows it.
  2. I ___ (do) tell you the meeting had been rescheduled — you simply weren't listening.
  3. They ___ (do) appreciate your efforts, but they feel the deadline is unrealistic.
  4. He ___ (do) submit his report on time last Friday, contrary to what the manager claimed.
Correction

  1. She does understand the consequences of her actions, even if she rarely shows it.
  2. I did tell you the meeting had been rescheduled — you simply weren't listening.
  3. They do appreciate your efforts, but they feel the deadline is unrealistic.
  4. He did submit his report on time last Friday, contrary to what the manager claimed.

Exercice 2 — Reformulez avec une phrase clivée

Transformez chaque phrase neutre en phrase clivée en it (it-cleft) pour mettre en emphase l'élément indiqué entre crochets.

  1. Reformulez en mettant en emphase [her perseverance] : Her perseverance ultimately secured the contract.
  2. Reformulez en mettant en emphase [in Berlin] : They first met in Berlin during the summit.
  3. Reformulez en mettant en emphase [the CEO] : The CEO announced the restructuring plan yesterday.
  4. Reformulez en mettant en emphase [last night] : The system crashed last night and corrupted all the files.
Correction

  1. It was her perseverance that ultimately secured the contract.
  2. It was in Berlin that they first met during the summit.
  3. It was the CEO who announced the restructuring plan yesterday.
  4. It was last night that the system crashed and corrupted all the files.

Exercice 3 — Corrigez les erreurs dans les tournures emphatiques

Chacune des phrases suivantes contient une erreur liée à l'utilisation d'une tournure emphatique. Récrivez chaque phrase correctement.

  1. What she wants it is a genuine apology, not a vague excuse.
  2. It was the board who did took the final decision without consulting anyone.
  3. He does believed every word of that misleading report when it was first published.
  4. It is honesty what I value most in a professional relationship.
