Exercice 1 — Complétez avec la forme participiale correcte

Choisissez entre le participe présent, passé ou parfait pour compléter chaque phrase de manière correcte et précise.

  1. ___ (exhaust) by the long negotiations, the delegates finally agreed to a compromise.
  2. ___ (complete) the report ahead of schedule, she decided to take the afternoon off.
  3. The scientist ___ (observe) the reaction carefully noted every change in temperature.
  4. ___ (not receive) any response to his application, he assumed the position had been filled.

Exercice 2 — Reformulez en utilisant une construction participiale

Transformez chaque paire de propositions en une seule phrase en remplaçant la subordonnée par la construction participiale appropriée. Réécrivez la phrase entière.

  1. Because she had lived in London for ten years, she knew the city extremely well. → Reformulez en utilisant un participe parfait.
  2. The manager reviewed the figures and then presented his conclusions to the board. → Reformulez en utilisant un participe présent.
  3. The proposal was rejected by the committee, so it was sent back for revision. → Reformulez en utilisant un participe passé.
  4. Since he had not been informed of the change, he arrived at the original venue. → Reformulez en utilisant un participe parfait négatif.
Correction

Exercice 3 — Corrigez les erreurs dans les constructions participiales

Chaque phrase contient une erreur portant sur la forme ou l'emploi du participe. Identifiez l'erreur et réécrivez la phrase correctement dans son intégralité.
