Ces exercices vous permettent de mettre en pratique les nuances subtiles des temps verbaux en anglais abordées dans le cours. Entraînez-vous à distinguer et à utiliser avec précision le Present Perfect, le Past Continuous et les autres formes verbales clés.

Exercice 1 — Complétez avec le bon temps verbal

Complétez chaque phrase en conjuguant le verbe entre parenthèses au temps qui convient le mieux selon le contexte. Écrivez la phrase entière dans votre réponse.

  1. By the time she arrived at the station, the train ___ (already / leave).
  2. I ___ (read) the report when my manager suddenly called me into her office.
  3. He ___ (work) at this company since he graduated from university in 2018.
  4. They ___ (not / finalise) the contract yet, so negotiations are still ongoing.

  2. I was reading the report when my manager suddenly called me into her office.
  3. He has been working at this company since he graduated from university in 2018.
  4. They have not finalised the contract yet, so negotiations are still ongoing.

Exercice 2 — Transformez les phrases selon les instructions

Réécrivez chaque phrase en appliquant la transformation indiquée, afin de faire ressortir une nuance temporelle différente. Écrivez la phrase entière dans votre réponse.

  1. She finished her thesis. (→ Mettez l'accent sur le résultat présent en utilisant le Present Perfect.)
  2. He studied all night and then he sat the exam. (→ Montrez qu'une action était en cours lorsque l'autre a eu lieu, en utilisant le Past Continuous pour l'action de longue durée.)
  3. They speak to the client every week. It started two years ago and continues now. (→ Exprimez la durée et la continuité à l'aide du Present Perfect Continuous.)
  4. I lived in Tokyo for three years, but now I live in London. (→ Reformulez en utilisant le Past Simple pour indiquer clairement que la situation est révolue.)

Exercice 3 — Corrigez les erreurs de temps verbaux

Chacune des phrases suivantes contient une erreur liée à l'emploi des temps verbaux. Identifiez l'erreur et réécrivez la phrase correctement dans son intégralité.

  1. When I have arrived home yesterday, I realized I had forgotten my keys.
  2. She is working at this firm since March and has already led three major projects.
  3. At 9 p.m. last night, we discussed the proposal when the power went out.
  4. By next Friday, the team will finish the audit and will submit their final report.
