Exercices B2 : Les structures hypothétiques en anglais

Ces exercices vous permettent de mettre en pratique les quatre structures hypothétiques étudiées dans le cours : conditionnels zéro, premier, deuxième et troisième. Travaillez la conjugaison, la précision et la naturalité de vos formulations.

Exercice 1 — Complétez les structures hypothétiques

Conjuguez le verbe entre parenthèses à la forme correcte pour compléter chaque structure hypothétique.

1. If I ___ (know) her address, I would send her an invitation to the party.
2. She wouldn't have missed the flight if she ___ (leave) the house earlier that morning.
3. If you heat water to 100 degrees Celsius, it ___ (boil) regardless of the altitude.
4. If they ___ (study) harder before the exam, they will probably pass without any difficulty.

Correction

1. If I knew her address, I would send her an invitation to the party.
2. She wouldn't have missed the flight if she had left the house earlier that morning.
3. If you heat water to 100 degrees Celsius, it boils regardless of the altitude.
4. If they study harder before the exam, they will probably pass without any difficulty.

Exercice 2 — Transformez les phrases hypothétiques

Réécrivez chaque phrase en changeant le conditionnel indiqué entre crochets. Conservez le sens le plus proche possible.

1. I don't have enough money, so I can't buy a new laptop. [Reformulez au 2nd conditionnel]
2. He didn't apply for the job, so he didn't get the promotion last year. [Reformulez au 3rd conditionnel]
3. If you don't water plants regularly, they die. [Reformulez au 1st conditionnel pour un cas précis]
4. She regrets not learning Spanish as a child. [Reformulez au 3rd conditionnel]

Correction

1. If I had enough money, I would buy a new laptop.
2. If he had applied for the job, he would have got the promotion last year.
3. If you don't water these plants regularly, they will die.
4. If she had learned Spanish as a child, she would have been able to speak it fluently now.

Exercice 3 — Corrigez les erreurs dans les conditionnels

Chaque phrase contient une erreur liée à la structure ou à la conjugaison d'un conditionnel. Réécrivez la phrase entière et correctement.

1. If she would know the truth, she would be very upset with him.
2. They would have finished the project if they didn't waste so much time yesterday.
3. If it will rain tomorrow, we cancel the outdoor event immediately.
4. He would be a great doctor today if he studied medicine at university.
