Exercices B2 : raconter un événement détaillé en anglais

Ces exercices vous entraînent à raconter des événements détaillés en anglais en mobilisant les bons temps, les connecteurs logiques et les nuances narratives vus dans le cours.

Exercice 1 — Les temps du récit

Complétez chaque phrase en conjuguant le verbe entre parenthèses au temps narratif approprié (past simple, past perfect ou past continuous).

1. By the time the ambulance arrived, the crowd ___ (gather) around the injured man for nearly ten minutes.
2. She ___ (just / finish) her presentation when the fire alarm suddenly went off.
3. While the manager ___ (negotiate) with the clients, his assistant quietly slipped out of the room.
4. They ___ (not / realise) that the bridge had been closed until they reached the other side of the valley.

Exercice 2 — Connecteurs et nuances narratives

Chaque phrase contient une erreur portant sur l'emploi des connecteurs ou des nuances narratives. Récrivez la phrase entière en la corrigeant.

1. Despite the weather was terrible, they decided to continue the hike.
2. He eventually managed to calm everyone down, nevertheless the situation remained tense for hours.
3. As soon as she had been hearing the news, she called her family immediately.
4. The ceremony was about ending when an unexpected guest walked through the door.

Exercice 3 — Reformuler pour plus de précision narrative

Transformez chaque phrase en utilisant le mot ou l'expression entre crochets, sans en changer le sens. Réécrivez la phrase entière.

1. He arrived late and missed the opening speech. [by the time]
2. She was tired, but she kept working until midnight. [even though]
3. First the lights went out, and then everyone started to panic. [no sooner]
4. They were in the middle of dinner when the phone rang. [while]
