Exercice 1 — Quelle formule choisir ?

Choisissez la réponse la plus appropriée pour chaque situation de discussion.

  1. Vous souhaitez donner votre opinion sans imposer votre point de vue. Que dites-vous ?
  2. Quelqu'un vient de parler et vous souhaitez prendre la parole poliment. Que dites-vous ?
  3. Vous n'êtes pas d'accord avec un collègue mais vous voulez rester poli. Que dites-vous ?
  4. Vous voulez vous assurer d'avoir bien compris la position d'un interlocuteur avant de répondre. Que dites-vous ?
Correction

  1. In my view, this approach seems more effective.
  2. If I could just come in here, I'd like to add something.
  3. I see your point, but I'm not entirely convinced by that argument.
  4. Are you saying that remote work reduces overall productivity?

Exercice 2 — Complétez la discussion

Complétez chaque réplique du dialogue en écrivant une phrase complète et naturelle en anglais, adaptée au contexte de la discussion.

  1. Interviewer: Do you think companies should allow employees to work from home permanently?
    Vous (donnez votre opinion) : ___
  2. Colleague: I believe social media is mostly harmful for teenagers.
    Vous (exprimez un désaccord poli) : ___
  3. Moderator: Would anyone like to add something before we move on?

  4. Participant: So basically, you're saying we should scrap the project entirely?

Correction

  1. Personally, I think that allowing employees to work from home permanently can boost productivity and improve work-life balance.

Exercice 3 — Reformulez avec tact

Reformulez chaque phrase en anglais pour qu'elle soit plus polie et appropriée dans une discussion formelle, tout en conservant le sens original.

  1. You're wrong and your idea will never work.
  2. Stop talking, I want to say something.
  3. I don't care about your opinion, mine is better.
  4. That's a stupid question, everyone knows the answer.
Correction

  1. I'm afraid I don't quite agree — I have some concerns about whether this idea would be feasible in practice.
  2. Sorry to interrupt, but I'd really like to share a point on this if I may.
  3. I appreciate your perspective, though I personally feel that a different approach might be more effective.
