Ces exercices vous permettent de pratiquer le third conditional, utilisé pour exprimer des regrets et des hypothèses sur le passé. Complétez chaque activité en vous appuyant sur les structures vues dans le cours.

Exercice 1 — Complétez avec le conditionnel passé

Complétez chaque phrase en conjuguant le verbe entre parenthèses à la forme correcte du third conditional (would have + participe passé ou if + past perfect).

  1. If she ___ (study) harder, she would have passed the exam.
  2. They would have caught the train if they ___ (leave) earlier.
  3. If he ___ (know) about the meeting, he would have attended it.
  4. We would have enjoyed the trip more if the weather ___ (be) better.
Correction

  1. If she had studied harder, she would have passed the exam.
  2. They would have caught the train if they had left earlier.
  3. If he had known about the meeting, he would have attended it.
  4. We would have enjoyed the trip more if the weather had been better.

Exercice 2 — Transformez au conditionnel passé

Réécrivez chaque paire de phrases en une seule phrase au third conditional, en exprimant une hypothèse ou un regret sur le passé.

  1. She didn't apply for the job. She didn't get hired. → If she…
  2. He didn't save his work. He lost everything. → If he…
  3. They didn't bring an umbrella. They got soaked. → If they…
  4. I didn't set my alarm. I missed the flight. → If I…
Correction

  1. If she had applied for the job, she would have gotten hired.
  2. If he had saved his work, he would not have lost everything.
  3. If they had brought an umbrella, they would not have gotten soaked.
  4. If I had set my alarm, I would not have missed the flight.

Exercice 3 — Corrigez les erreurs au conditionnel passé

Chaque phrase contient une erreur liée à la structure du third conditional. Récrivez la phrase entière et corrigement.

  1. If they had arrived on time, they would have catch the beginning of the show.
  2. She would have been happier if she has chosen a different career.
  3. If he would have asked for help, he wouldn't have made so many mistakes.
  4. We had enjoyed the concert more if the sound quality would have been better.
