Exercice 1 — Tiempos del pasado en contexto narrativo

Completa cada oración con la forma correcta del verbo entre paréntesis, usando el tiempo de pasado más adecuado para narrar el evento.

  1. By the time the guests arrived, she ___ (already / prepare) a three-course meal.
  2. He ___ (walk) along the riverside when he suddenly noticed a crowd gathering near the bridge.
  3. The conference ___ (just / begin) when the fire alarm went off and everyone had to evacuate the building.
  4. As soon as the final whistle ___ (blow), the fans rushed onto the pitch to celebrate with the players.
Correction

  1. By the time the guests arrived, she had already prepared a three-course meal.
  2. He was walking along the riverside when he suddenly noticed a crowd gathering near the bridge.
  3. The conference had just begun when the fire alarm went off and everyone had to evacuate the building.
  4. As soon as the final whistle blew, the fans rushed onto the pitch to celebrate with the players.

Exercice 2 — Conectores narrativos: corrige los errores

Cada oración contiene un error relacionado con el uso de conectores narrativos o la estructura del relato. Réescribe la oración correctamente.

  1. Despite the weather was terrible, the outdoor festival continued without interruption.
  2. The speaker finished her presentation. Furthermore, the audience had already started to leave the hall.
  3. First, the ceremony begun with a musical performance, and afterward the awards were handed out.
  4. Although they had trained for months, but the team lost the match in the final minutes.
Correction

  1. Despite the terrible weather, the outdoor festival continued without interruption.
  2. The speaker finished her presentation; by that point, however, the audience had already started to leave the hall.

Exercice 3 — De lo simple a lo detallado: transforma las oraciones

Transforma cada oración simple en una narración más detallada y fluida, incorporando detalles descriptivos, tiempos del pasado apropiados y conectores narrativos.

  1. She arrived late. The meeting had started.
  2. The fire started. People ran out of the building.
  3. He gave a speech. Everyone clapped.
  4. The storm was bad. The event continued.
Correction

  1. By the time she arrived, flustered and out of breath, the meeting had already been underway for nearly twenty minutes.
  2. As soon as the fire broke out on the third floor, people scrambled out of the building in a state of panic.
  3. The moment he finished his heartfelt speech, the entire audience rose to their feet and burst into applause.
  4. Despite the fierce storm that had been raging for hours, the organisers decided to press on with the event.
