Exercice 1 — Choisissez la bonne expression

Lisez chaque situation et choisissez la réponse la plus appropriée pour donner des indications en anglais.

  1. Someone asks you where the train station is. What do you say?
  2. You want to tell someone that the museum is on the right side of the street. What do you say?
  3. Someone wants to know how far the hotel is. What is the best answer?
  4. You want to tell someone to cross the bridge and then take the second street on the left. What do you say?
Correction

  1. Go straight ahead and turn left at the traffic lights.
  2. The museum is on your right, next to the bank.
  3. It is about five minutes away on foot.
  4. Cross the bridge and take the second street on the left.

Exercice 2 — Associez les expressions à leur sens

Associez chaque expression anglaise utilisée pour donner des indications à sa description correspondante.

  1. Turn right at the corner.
  2. Go past the supermarket.
  3. It is opposite the post office.
  4. Take the first street on the left.
Correction

  1. Turn right at the corner. → Cette phrase indique qu'il faut tourner à droite au coin de la rue.
  2. Go past the supermarket. → Cette phrase indique qu'il faut dépasser le supermarché sans s'arrêter.
  3. It is opposite the post office. → Cette phrase indique que le lieu se trouve en face de la poste.
  4. Take the first street on the left. → Cette phrase indique qu'il faut prendre la première rue à gauche.

Exercice 3 — Complétez les indications

Complétez chaque phrase avec le mot ou l'expression manquant pour former une indication correcte en anglais.

  1. Go ___ ahead until you reach the roundabout.
  2. The pharmacy is ___ the bakery, on the left side of the street.
  3. Turn ___ at the traffic lights and walk for about two minutes.
  4. The hotel is ___ the park, just after the bridge.
Correction

  1. Go straight ahead until you reach the roundabout.
  2. The pharmacy is next to the bakery, on the left side of the street.
  3. Turn left at the traffic lights and walk for about two minutes.
  4. The hotel is opposite the park, just after the bridge.
