Exercice 1 — El backshift: completa las frases en discurso indirecto

Completa cada frase en discurso indirecto eligiendo la forma verbal correcta del backshift. Escribe la frase completa en tu respuesta.

  1. Direct: 'I am working late tonight.' → She said that she ___ (work) late that night.
  2. Direct: 'We have already eaten.' → They told me that they ___ (eat) already.
  3. Direct: 'I will call you tomorrow.' → He said that he ___ (call) me the following day.
  4. Direct: 'She can speak three languages.' → He mentioned that she ___ (speak) three languages.
Correction

  1. She said that she was working late that night.
  2. They told me that they had already eaten.
  3. He said that he would call me the following day.
  4. He mentioned that she could speak three languages.

Exercice 2 — De discurso directo a indirecto

Transforma cada frase del discurso directo al discurso indirecto, aplicando el backshift y los cambios de pronombres o expresiones de tiempo necesarios. Escribe la frase completa.

  1. Transform into reported speech: 'I don't know where my passport is,' said Anna.
  2. Transform into reported speech: 'We saw that film last week,' they told us.
  3. Transform into reported speech: 'You must submit the report by Friday,' the manager said to them.
  4. Transform into reported speech: 'I have never been to New York,' he admitted.
Correction

  1. Anna said that she didn't know where her passport was.
  2. They told us that they had seen that film the week before.
  3. The manager told them that they had to submit the report by Friday.
  4. He admitted that he had never been to New York.

Exercice 3 — Corrige los errores en el discurso indirecto
