Exercice 1 : Modaux de nuance : might et could

Complétez chaque phrase avec le modal approprié (might ou could) pour exprimer une opinion nuancée. Réécrivez la phrase entière.

Exercice 2 : Repérez les erreurs de nuance

Chacune des phrases suivantes contient une erreur liée à l'usage des adverbes de degré ou des formules de concession. Identifiez l'erreur et réécrivez la phrase correctement.

1. Although I see your point, but I still think this solution is rather ineffective.
2. This idea is fairly very interesting, even if it needs further refinement.
3. Despite of the challenges involved, this project could yield significant results.
4. I totally might agree with your analysis, though I have a few reservations.

Exercice 3 : Choisir la bonne formule de concession

Pour chaque situation, choisissez la phrase qui exprime le mieux une opinion nuancée et diplomatique. Une seule réponse est correcte.

1. You want to acknowledge an advantage while expressing a reservation about a decision.
   • a) This decision is completely wrong and we should reject it immediately.
   • b) While this decision has its merits, it might not be the most effective approach in the long run.
   • c) This decision could be good but also could be bad, who knows.
   • d) Even though I agree, I disagree with this decision.
2. You want to qualify your agreement with a colleague without being abrupt with them.
   • a) You are entirely right and there is nothing more to add on this topic.
   • b) I completely disagree with everything you have just said.
