Exercice 1 — Temps verbaux dans le récit : complétez les phrases
Conjuguez le verbe entre parenthèses au temps narratif approprié (past perfect, past continuous, past simple) pour obtenir un récit cohérent et fluide.
- By the time she arrived at the station, the last train ___ (already / leave) and the platform was completely empty.
- He ___ (work) on the project for three exhausting weeks when his manager suddenly announced that the deadline had been moved forward.
- While the audience ___ (applaud) enthusiastically, the lead actor stepped back onto the stage and bowed one final time.
- She realised, with a sinking feeling, that she ___ (forget) to attach the crucial document to her email before sending it.

Exercice 2 — Connecteurs logiques : repérez et corrigez les erreurs
Chaque phrase contient un connecteur logique mal utilisé. Réécrivez la phrase entière en remplaçant le connecteur incorrect par le connecteur approprié.
- He had prepared extensively for the interview; nevertheless, he secured the position with great ease.
- The journey was long and tiring. Furthermore, we decided to stop at the first available hotel we could find.
- She spoke fluent Mandarin. As a result, she struggled to make herself understood during her first week in Beijing.
- The conference had been poorly advertised; therefore, it attracted a surprisingly large and enthusiastic audience.

Choisissez parmi les termes suivants celui qui convient le mieux au contexte émotionnel de chaque phrase, et réécrivez la phrase complète : overwhelmed, apprehensive, elated, disheartened.
- After months of rejection letters, she felt utterly ___ and began to question whether she would ever find a publisher willing to take a chance on her novel.
