Estos ejercicios te ayudarán a consolidar la concordancia de tiempos básica en inglés, practicando cómo adaptar los tiempos verbales en oraciones subordinadas para expresarte con precisión y naturalidad.

Exercice 1 — Rellena los huecos con la forma verbal correcta

Completa cada oración con la forma correcta del verbo entre paréntesis, aplicando las reglas de concordancia de tiempos en inglés.

  1. She told me that she ___ (work) very hard the previous week.
  2. He said he ___ (finish) the report before the meeting started.
  3. They mentioned that the train ___ (already / leave) when they arrived at the station.
  4. Maria explained that she ___ (not / understand) the instructions at the time.
Correction

  1. She told me that she had been working very hard the previous week.
  2. He said he would have finished the report before the meeting started.
  3. They mentioned that the train had already left when they arrived at the station.
  4. Maria explained that she had not understood the instructions at the time.

Exercice 2 — Transforma las oraciones al estilo indirecto

Reescribe cada oración en estilo indirecto, aplicando la concordancia de tiempos correspondiente. Usa el verbo introductorio indicado.

  1. Direct speech: "I am studying for my exams." → Reported speech (She said…)
  2. Direct speech: "We have already sent the documents." → Reported speech (They told us…)
  3. Direct speech: "I will call you tomorrow." → Reported speech (He promised…)
  4. Direct speech: "The manager can sign the contract." → Reported speech (She explained…)
Correction

  1. She said that she was studying for her exams.

  3. He promised that he would call me the next day.

Exercice 3 — Corrige los errores de concordancia de tiempos

Cada oración contiene un error relacionado con la concordancia de tiempos. Identifica el error y reescribe la oración correctamente.

  1. He told me that he will finish the project the day before.
  2. She said that she has never visited Paris before that trip.
  3. They reported that the results are better than expected.
