Estos ejercicios te ayudarán a consolidar el uso del subjuntivo pasado en inglés para expresar hipótesis y deseos irreales en el presente, como ‘If I were you’ o ‘I wish I knew’.

Exercice 1 — Completa con la forma correcta

Rellena el hueco con la forma verbal correcta del subjuntivo pasado en inglés.

  1. If I ___ (be) you, I would apologize immediately.
  2. She wishes she ___ (know) the answer to the question.
  3. If he ___ (have) more time, he would travel around the world.
  4. I wish I ___ (speak) French as fluently as my sister.
Correction

  1. If I were you, I would apologize immediately.
  2. She wishes she knew the answer to the question.
  3. If he had more time, he would travel around the world.
  4. I wish I spoke French as fluently as my sister.

Exercice 2 — Transforma las frases al subjuntivo pasado

Reescribe cada frase usando el subjuntivo pasado en inglés para expresar una situación hipotética o un deseo irreal en el presente.

  1. I don't have a car, so I can't drive to work. (Use 'If I…')
  2. He doesn't know her phone number, so he can't call her. (Use 'If he…')
  3. She is not tall enough to reach the shelf. (Use 'She wishes…')
  4. We don't live near the beach, so we can't go swimming every day. (Use 'If we…')
Correction

  1. If I had a car, I could drive to work.
