Exercice 1 — Fill in the blank: past imperative

Complete each sentence with the correct past imperative form of the verb in brackets.

1. ___ (terminer) ce rapport avant que le directeur arrive !
2. ___ (partir) d'ici avant la tombée de la nuit !
3. ___ (rendre) ces livres à la bibliothèque avant vendredi ! (tu)
4. ___ (préparer) le dossier avant mon retour ! (vous)

Exercice 2 — Transformation: present imperative → past imperative

Rewrite each sentence by transforming the present imperative into the past imperative, to emphasise that the action must be completed before the stated deadline.

1. Finissez votre travail avant midi !
2. Rentre à la maison avant minuit !
3. Corrigez ces erreurs avant la réunion !
4. Mange ta soupe avant que papa arrive !

Exercice 3 — Error correction: past imperative

Each sentence contains one error in the formation or agreement of the past imperative. Identify the mistake and write the fully corrected sentence.

1. Ayez fini vos devoirs avant que je reviens !
2. Sois parties avant l'aube ! (tu, féminin singulier)
3. Aie terminés ce projet avant demain matin !
4. Ayons rangé la cuisine avant que les invités arrivent ! (vous)
