Exercise 1 : Which expression should you use?

For each situation described, choose the most appropriate Spanish expression from the four options provided.

1. Empuja accidentalmente a un desconocido en la calle. ¿Qué dice?
   • ¡Auxilio!
   • ¡Perdón!
   • ¡Gracias!
   • ¡Adelante!
2. Llega con retraso a una cita importante y quiere mostrar un arrepentimiento sincero. ¿Qué dice?

Read each exchange and choose the missing reply that best fits the situation, using the expressions covered in the lesson.

1. Carlos : ¿Por qué llegaste tarde? / Ana : ___ (Elle veut s’excuser sincèrement et expliquer qu’il y avait beaucoup de trafic.)

Exercise 3 : Rephrase the apology

Each sentence contains an apology expression that does not match the context described. Rewrite the full sentence by replacing it with the correct expression based on the indicated level of formality.

1. Contexte : vous parlez à votre meilleur ami. Phrase à reformuler : ‘Disculpe, llegué tarde a tu fiesta.’
2. Contexte : vous voulez exprimer des regrets très profonds après une erreur grave. Phrase à reformuler : ‘Lo siento, fue un error mío.’
3. Contexte : vous bousculez légèrement quelqu’un dans le métro, la situation est anodine. Phrase à reformuler : ‘Lo siento muchísimo.’
