Exercice 1 — Rellena los huecos con el tiempo literario correcto

Completa cada oración con la forma verbal adecuada según el contexto literario. Escribe la oración completa en tu respuesta.

1. By the time the last candle ___ (go out), the manuscript had already begun to crumble at its edges.
2. She ___ (stand) at the threshold for what seemed an eternity before the door swung open of its own accord.

Reescribe cada oración transformándola al tiempo o aspecto verbal indicado entre corchetes, manteniendo el sentido literario original. Escribe la oración completa.

1. He walked through the ruins and thought of her face. [Transforma al past perfect para indicar anterioridad narrativa]
2. She is watching the horizon as if she expects a ship to appear. [Transforma al historic present en pasado narrativo manteniendo la inmediatez del presente histórico]
3. The soldiers crossed the valley in silence. They suffered from exhaustion. [Combina usando past perfect continuous para expresar causa acumulada]
