Exercise 1 — Fill in the blanks: conditional tense

Complete each sentence by conjugating the verb in brackets in the Spanish conditional tense.

1. Si tuviera más tiempo, yo ___ (viajar) por toda América Latina.
2. Nosotros ___ (venir) a la fiesta, pero tenemos otro compromiso.
3. ¿Vosotros ___ (poder) ayudarme con esta tarea?
4. Ella dijo que ___ (salir) más tarde con sus amigos.

Exercise 2 — Transform into the conditional tense

Rewrite each sentence by putting the indicated verb into the conditional tense, keeping the rest of the sentence unchanged.

1. Yo como una paella si pudiera elegir el menú. (comme si c’était une hypothèse)
2. ¿Me traes un vaso de agua, por favor? → Formule la même demande de façon plus polie avec le conditionnel.
3. Quiero reservar una mesa para esta noche. → Exprime ce souhait poliment au conditionnel.
4. Él dice que viene mañana. → Mets le verbe venir au conditionnel pour rapporter ses paroles au discours indirect.

Exercise 3 — Spot and correct the errors

Each sentence contains an error in the conjugation or formation of the conditional tense. Rewrite the entire sentence correctly.

1. Yo hablaría con ella, pero no sé su número. (conjugué : yo hablaria)
2. Ellos hacerían todo lo posible para ayudarte.
3. Tú tendrías que estudiar más si quieres aprobar. (conjugué : tú tenerías)
4. Nosotros sabríamos la respuesta si hubiéramos leído el libro. (conjugué : nosotros saberíamos)
