These exercises will help you practise the opinion phrases introduced in the course. Complete each activity to build confidence using ‘I think’, ‘I believe’ and ‘In my opinion’ naturally.

Exercice 1 — What do you say?

Choose the most natural way to express an opinion in each situation.

1. Your friend asks: 'Do you like this restaurant?' You want to share your personal opinion politely. What do you say?
2. Someone asks your view on learning English. You want to say it is useful. What do you say?
3. Your classmate asks if you agree that homework is difficult. You want to express your personal belief. What do you say?
4. You are in a group discussion about weekends. You want to introduce your opinion about free time. What do you say?

Correction

1. I think the food here is really good.
2. In my opinion, English is a very useful language to learn.
3. I believe homework can be quite difficult sometimes.
4. In my opinion, having free time is very important for everyone.

Exercice 2 — Complete the conversation

Fill in the blank in each dialogue line to express an opinion naturally using the phrases from the course.

1. A: What do you think about this film? B: ___, it is a little boring but the music is great.
2. A: Is English difficult to learn? B: ___ English is not easy, but it is very rewarding.
