Exercise 1 — Conjugate in the past conditional

Complete each sentence by conjugating the verb in brackets in the past conditional (condicional compuesto). Write the full sentence.

1. Yo ___ (llamar) antes de venir, pero no tenía tu número.
2. Nosotros ___ (llegar) a tiempo si el tren no hubiera tenido retraso.
3. Ella ___ (estudiar) más, pero tuvo que trabajar toda la semana.
4. Vosotros ___ (comer) algo si hubierais tenido hambre.

Exercise 2 — From simple conditional to past conditional

Transform each sentence from the simple conditional to the past conditional, adapting the meaning to a past action that did not take place. Rewrite the full sentence.

1. Yo comería una pizza si tuviera hambre.
2. Ella viajaría a México si pudiera.
3. Él haría todo lo posible para ayudarte.
4. Nosotros vendríamos antes si lo supiéramos.

Exercise 3 — Correct the errors in the past conditional

Each sentence contains an error in the formation or use of the past conditional. Identify the mistake and rewrite the full sentence correctly.

1. Si hubiera estudiado, habría aprobé el examen.
2. Tú habrías hablado más despacio si te lo habría pedido.
3. Ellos habrían vivir en París si hubieran tenido la oportunidad.
4. Yo habría decido la verdad, pero nadie me preguntó.
